KEY2KHOLORZ CD AVALIBLE AT ITUNES
This site is a celebration of the two biggest icons of the twentieth century that no one will ever forget. Although one has passed away he will all ways be a part of this era and beyond. Their talents shall never be duplicated and this is truly an era of music and dance that will always challenge the historians’ opinion of their unique blend of imagination, expertise, and perfectionism. Let it be known that this is not a site to bash or compare these two artists but to celebrate their success. Some people seem to lose sight of what music truly means to our world: it is an expression of true love which is the most important force in the universe. Our Creator set forth and anointed these two human beings with the will and ability to explore and produce that which is and was a part of their spiritual makeup in order to share it with you and me. Although Michael is gone and has returned to his spiritual essence, his music shall continue to be played throughout the world which in a way shows his true immortality, and his physical representation shall all ways be heard. Don’t be sad, just put on his music and keep on jamming just like he would want you to. He will always be there in spirit and in physical sound so let’s talk about him and Prince. I know a lot of you are trying to get through this but the best thing to do is talk about it and I know there are a lot of people out there who would like to hear what you have to say. Unfortunately at last count there have been 12 suicides. We should not only pray for Michael but also for those who could no longer carry on without him. That’s why it’s so important for us to talk and express our feelings with other like-minded people and celebrate his life as well as his death. Our brother Prince is all alone now and I wonder what he is thinking. I am sure he has his own private thoughts of the situation and I know he is just as sad as the rest of us, though we may never know at this time. Prince had a mutual respect for Michael, showing up at a couple of MJ concerts and showing proper respect deep down inside. I know he loved him as much as we all did. In 1984 at the Beverly theater in LA James Brown performed and invited Prince and Michael on stage with him. While Prince played guitar Michael performed THIS IS A MANS WORLD and tore it up. After that they broke into THERE WAS A TIME which literally brought the house down. This is probably the only time Prince and Michael performed on the same stage together: it was definitely an historical event. There is a celebrated tale told by Jackson’s manager Frank Dileo in the Face magazine that Prince had been invited to share lead vocals on the BAD ALBUM title track. Dileo added that Prince declined and asserted that that was Prince’s loss. Quincy Jones brought Prince over to kind of break Michael out of a creative funk after the Thriller cd. Michael did nothing for four years, while during that same period Prince released eight albums. Prince dose not really seem to care about selling large quantities of cds, he just cares about making good quality music whether it sells or not. A lot of critics say that his best music was after the Purple rain album; however, that remains open to debate. Prince had a big falling out with Warner Brothers Records a few years after inking a $100,000,000 million dollar contract with them. He told them he was sick of being a slave and started wearing a slave marking across his face. What people don’t know is that eventually this led to Prince using another name, The Artist Formerly Known as Prince. This same thing happened to the Jackson Five. When they wanted to leave Motown they couldn’t take the name with them because Motown owned it. Popa Joe forgot to trademark the name of his children’s group when they were still up and coming and lost control of the name, so while the Jackson Five were selling millions of albums and selling out concert halls they never knew that Motown owed there name, and when it came time for them to move on to Sony records they couldn’t take the Jackson Five name with them. That’s why all their releases from Sony records were called The Jacksons. They even took Motown to court and argued that it was a family name but the courts did not go for it. So that’s how the Jackson Five lost there name to Motown Records. The same thing happened to Prince but being the private person that he is he never said anything to the press about why he changed his name. So everybody thought he was crazy to change his name in the middle of his career, but he had no choice. After big time negotiations with Warner Brothers he got his name and his music publishing rights back in exchange for that $100,000,000 contract he signed, and that is when he came out with the 1996 album EMANCIPATION cd and appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show and took us all on a private tour of his massive recording studio that Warner
Brothers built for him. if anybody has seen the Renaissance building in Detroit it looks exactly like it only on a smaller scale: three huge circular buildings made of glass. It includes three 48 track studios, a combination rehearsal hall and video hall and an apartment at the top, as well as a live club. It also includes a huge vault which includes over 500 unreleased songs. Michael Jackson owned a lot of publishing catalogs. A couple of the catalogs are not mentioned very often. One is the CAMEO music, another is the Sly and the Family Stone catalog. However, the most talked about is the Beatles catalog. How that transaction came about is the reason he and Paul McCartney fell out big time. At the time when the Beatles catalog came on the market Michael was flush with Thriller money and out-bid Paul for the catalog. McCartney was pissed because Michael would not have thought of buying the catalog unless he had told him publishing catalogs were a very lucrative investment. From that point on Paul and Michael had a very strained relationship and Paul never got over it. Remember the advisory stickers that now rule all cds when purchased at any music store... that my friends is because of Prince( not the Hip Hoppers like every one thinks ). On the Purple Rain cd is the song Darling Nikki. One day it was overheard by a senator whose chid just happened to be playing the song. He was so offended that they drafted a bill in the House and that is why you have those lovely stickers attached to your cds now, because of his sexually explicit words. This is also the reason a lot of his music can’t be played on radio; he is definitely the only musician in the world like that. If you are ever invited to a Prince party like the ones around Detroit they are extremely snobbish about his music. Whatever you have heard on the radio THEY DO NOT PLAY; instead they play Prince music you have never head before from cds from 1996 up to the present that kick ass better than any of the music you hear on the radio today. That’s how far ahead he can be. Even Stevie Wonder says he has passed on the baton to him. The critics come out in full force after an MJ or Prince new release. They like to put both artists into this forced category that they perceive both artists should conform to and when they do branch off they spit venom all over the place, especially at Prince, who likes to bounce around so many different categories they can’t seem to understand. Here is a visual, analytical perception of how they think his music should be written:
OK Prince you have given us a beautiful painting of the Mona Lisa and it’s all good now. Let’s see you paint the Mona Lisa on the same canvas with glasses on. Then we would like you to paint her again on the same canvas with earrings on. Now Prince we gonna let you get real giggy with it and paint the Mona Lisa on the same canvas with a beard and bushy eyebrows.
Now that’s a not so colorful way the critics like to think of his music and a whole lot of other musicians of the world, but I like to think that his come back would be MAN COME ON. I’m gonna paint a new picture with new brushes and new colors and for God’s sake a new canvas and that’s the way we gonna flow and if you don’t like it that’s up to you.
